His ambiguous and abstract tone intimates another world we do not see, but that does exist: it certainly does, not behind the scenes, but in us. Shakespeare wants to throw the doors wide open on this fantastical world. Otherwise, what sense would the Dream have? Zanelli fully grasps the oneiric and fantastical aspects of the text. His rude (in the sense of rustic) acting is enough to reveal a parallel universe made of sprites and gnomes, tress and living plants, fairies and witches; a universe we would not see if not through the inspiration of Zanelli. […] Zanelli appears to be rather “unnatural”, that is, taken out of nature as a quintessential element; in short, a veritable winged sprite, an Ariel that flies around in the real world in search of his home beyond the looking glass, to use a term from Lewis Carroll’s, Alice in Wonderland.
